                RIVENDELL PLAYERS - AUDITIONS - SOUND OF MUSIC - will take place on Tuesday, February 26th and Wednesday, February 27th in
               Ms. Alden's room starting at 3:15 PM.  Please come with a short song to sing.  Rehearsals will start after vacation for the music and once
                basketball is over, rehearsals will go full tilt.  If you have any questions please ask Ms. Alden or Ms. Sobetzer.  Lots of roles, to fill, come
                have some fun.   Theater Tech during block 3, Trimester 3 will be building, gathering, and making essentials for the play.  A great way to
                be involved without being on stage!             

                ANNUAL VERSHARE SNOWSHOE-A-THON - Saturday, March 2nd - Winter Carnival and luch for participants at the Mountain School
                (finish line).  Registration: 9:45 - 10:45 AM (on trail by 11 AM).  Funding for the VerShare Community Camp with winter Fun.  Each
                summer about 75 children & teens from Vershire & neighboring towns benefit from the experience of this enriching summer camp.

                PIZZA PARTY - Do you and your advisory like pizza?  How about winning a pizza party sponsored by the outing club and other teachers.  All you have
                to do is participate in the snowshoe-a-thon on March 2nd.  The advisory with the highest percentage of participants will win a pizza party!!  See Story

                HARTFORD AREA CAREER & TECHNICAL CENTER - Tuesday, March 5th beginning at 6:30 PM.   

                SCIENCE DAY AT DARTMOUTH - Science outreach event to get kids and teensinterested in pursuing educatio  and/or careers in the
               sciences and research  Saturday, May 4 from 10 - 3 PM, at Dartmouth College campus in various departments and buildings.  Students

                CHAMPLAIN COLLEGE YOUNG WRITERS CONFERENCE - A weekend writing workshop, craft session, and open mic at the Young                       
                Writers Conference on May 24th - May 26th. Conference is open to high school students who wish to share their passion for story,
                drama, and song with other participants. The three days include reading, improv, moth storytelling, poetry slams, literary jazz, blues
                fusion, and extended friendship. Keynote speaker is Moira Smiley.   Application Deadline is March 8th.  Visit

                VSAC - STACEY KING - Is available at the Fairlee Public Library to provide assistance to families, previous grads, or community members
               with career, training, college and financia aid information as well as applications.  She will be filling hour long appointments first by
                appointment and then by walk in.  If you are interested in understanding or being provided with assistance you may contact her at

                HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS (9-12) - High school video contest as a public service announcement.  Create a 25 second video abut the
                dangers of distracted driving. Have a chance at wining one of four prizes ranging from $250 to $750.00.  Deadline to enter is April 1st.

                The Upper Valley Trails Alliance has just launched the application for the 2019 High School Trail Corps Program. Since 2013 we                                                                          have served hundreds of local students by getting them working on local trails to give back to the community, learn valuable skills, and earn                                                               a stipend for their work. Students can apply for placement in one of four weeks in the summer of 2019. The program is open to rising freshman                                                   through graduating seniors. The program fills up fast and applications are reviewed on a rolling first come first served basis, www.uvtrails.org.                                                    If so, come join the Upper Valley High School Trail Corps this July.  Applications due May 15.

                MEDQUEST PROGRAMS - Current Sophomores - two six day MedQuest programs are being offered this summer.  MedQuest at Vermont                      
                Technical College - Randolph Center June 23rd to June 28th.  MedQuest at Northern Vermont University - Johnson July 28th to August                      
                2nd.  MedQuest participants job-shadow with health care providers in northern and central Vermont, and learn skills that prepare them

                COLLEGE & CAREER PATHWAYS - VSAC invites you to the 2019 events as follows:

                VERMONT LAW CADET PROGRAM - Will you be 14 or older by the end of the schoolyear?  Are you interested in law enforcement?  The
               American Legion is sponsoring high school students interested in attending the Vermont Law Cadet Program being offered this summer
                from June 16 - June 21, 2019.  The program will be held at the VT Police Academy in Pittsford, Vr.  deadline to apply is April 1, 2019.  See

                DAVID M. KENT NHTM MATHEMATICS SCHOLARSHIP - $1,000 Scholarship will be awarded to a graduating high school senior who will
                be attending an accredited college or university by September 2019, and is planning on enrolling in a certification program for
                mathematics, mathematics education or elementary education. www.nhmathteachers.org.  Deadline May 1st.

        NURSE - Students, if you need to see the nurse, please ask your teacher to call.  Do not go to the nurse's office without the okay from your teacher.  Creigh is often busy in other parts of the building, and we want to be sure you get to see her in a timely fashion while not missing out on class.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
        BATTLE OF THE BADGES POLICE-FIRE HOCKEY GAME -  Event is Saturday, March 16 AT SNHU arena with a (5pm) puck drop.
 
There are a variety of shifts and tasks for the day - the majority in the mid-afternoon/early evening - all taking place in very exciting atmosphere of over 6,000 attendees.

        RIVENDELL SPORTS REGISTRATION - 2018 -2019 Winter Basketball Registration is now open for 7 - 12th grade, through November 16th.
